The department also runs evaluation centres for liver donors and patients at UB HealthCare Services.

The surgeons use innovative and highly advanced technologies to treat the patients successfully with diseases like liver failure or other complex liver associated problems requiring a transplant. The team works in close collaboration with the patients which and performs extensive medical research to onboard more advanced treatment methods.

There are multiple steps involved in liver transplant and the team of UB HealthCare Services makes sure to understand every aspect of the patient’s condition properly including a Pre-Transplant work-up, wherein the fitness of the patient is properly evaluated. Pre-Transplant work-up comprises of various tests such as blood tests, viral markers, biochemistry analysis, radiology evaluation, tumor markers, CT-Scans, Angiogram, ECHO test and endoscopy.

This is followed by a complete evaluation of the patient by specialists like Cardiologist, Gastroenterologist, Pulmonologist, Dentist, Anesthetist, Physiotherapist, Psychiatrist and dietitian.

Once the liver transplant process is complete, the team ensures a proper post-operative quality care of the patient by keeping the patient under continuous monitoring until complete recovery. The department also ensures proper delivery of medications to the patient on time and provides every possible support required by the patient or the caregivers for a speedy recovery of the patient.
